Important - Please Read


All orders are processed within 24 hours of receiving them.

Most in-stock [Dry Goods] orders are shipped within 24 to 48 hours of receiving them, anytime of the year.

Aquatic plants are shipped on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays (local West. PA orders only) and Saturdays (only)....every week during the growing season. If you order your plants after Monday at 12:00 PM EST (9:00 AM Pacific Time), they may have to wait until the following week to be shipped. Plant orders are shipped in the order we receive them.

Aquatic plants start shipping sometime in mid-March....we start shipping to the warmer, southern-most states first. Tropical marginals and (day-blooming) water lilies start shipping mid-to-late April. Tropical (night-blooming) water lilies ship mid-May, until weather permits in the fall or the crop runs out. GET YOUR ORDERS IN EARLY! (See our online catalog for exact shipping times.)

PPM Note: As an example of how weather affects our plant shipments....
Due to an unusually-long and fairly, rough winter (and with very little sunlight to speak of) in the spring of 2003, most of the shipments of our plant orders were delayed by about 1-month. Our yearly shipping schedules are only estimates as we are always at the mercy of Mother Nature.

We ship anywhere in the lower 48 contiguous states. Sorry, due to delayed shipping/deliveries beyond our control, we cannot ship plants to Alaska or Hawaii at this time.

PLEASE NOTE:

We do not ship C.O.D.

* UPS will not deliver to a PO Box (post office box), so please include your actual (physical) street address with your order.

* Plants are perishable and should be delivered to your home (street address) or place of business, so they can be properly received....not to a PO Box in your post office or in a box at the end of your street.

Unless otherwise specified, gifts from our Gift Department are shipped via UPS Ground Service, or via USPS Priority Mail or Parcel Post.

* USPS Priority Mail is used for shipping plants, ONLY. We DO NOT ship our Dry Goods using this shipping method. If you wish to have your Dry Goods order shipped via this method, please call us for a quote on the additional charge before you place your order.

** USPS Priority Mail is our preferred method for shipping plants.

$0.00 to $29.99 = $9.95 (west of the Mississippi - $10.95)
$30.00 to $59.99 = $11.95 (west of the Mississippi - $12.95)
$60.00 to $99.99 = $12.95 (west of the Mississippi - $13.95)
$100.00 to $149.99 = $14.95 (west of the Mississippi - $15.95)
$150.00 to $199.99 = $15.95 (west of the Mississippi - $16.95)
$200.00 to $249.99 = $16.95 (west of the Mississippi - $17.95)
$250.00 and up = $17.95 (west of the Mississippi - $18.95)

USPS Priority mail (2 to 3 day delivery after shipped)

$13.95 = Flat Shipping and Handling Fee.

First Class Mail, is STRICTLY reserved for mailing our Gift Certificates, ONLY. No exceptions!

Please Note ....Ponds, Plants and More ultimately reserves the right to choose which Shipping method will be used, in order to serve our customers in the best way possible!

If you wish to have any order shipped by a specific method, or by a method other than what we offer, you must call us for a quote for the additional shipping charge before you place your order. You must understand (though) that your order's delivery date(s) may be delayed.

AQUATIC PLANTS: cannot and will not be shipped with dry goods and must be shipped separately. They are shipped via USPS Priority Mail, to ensure healthy, viable plant life upon arrival. Therefore, they will be considered a separate order and subject to a flat shipping and handling fee (see above for shipping fees).

PA residents must add 6% sales tax.

ADDITIONAL TRUCK FREIGHT CHARGES: Items too large or heavy for standard ground service must be shipped via truck lines - example: rolls of pond liner. Please call (724-239-6673) for a freight quote. We will need a daytime phone number, so the carrier can call and schedule a delivery date for when you will have "unloading help" on hand. There will be no other shipping and handling fees if additional products are ordered from our store along with these items (excluding plants).

OUT OF STOCK ITEMS OR BACKORDERS: At times, due to seasonal demand or reasons beyond our control, we may be unable to fill your orders. We apologize for this inconvenience. We will ship all stock merchandise within 2-weeks of your ordering date and then complete your delivery of back-ordered or out-of-stock items as soon as possible, with no additional shipping charges.

If a known out-of-stock [Dry Goods] item is due back in our warehouse within 2-weeks of you placing your order, we reserve the right to hold your entire order and ship it when that particular item comes in.

Plants are the exception: Plants are not placed on back-order if out of stock and therefore, must be re-ordered at a later date.

Additionally, if any one "Dry Goods" order (under $20.00) is not in stock, we will not be able to place it on back-order....the item must be re-ordered. If any merchandise is not shipped to you and not placed on backorder, we will notify you via your valid e-mail address (if your order was placed online) and by telephone (if your order was placed by telephone or U.S. Mail). We will issue a credit for the correct amount. We will only charge your credit card for the portion of your order that was shipped.

DAMAGED FREIGHT: It is important that you inspect all freight carefully upon receipt. On the rare occasion that freight has been damaged by the carrier, please have the driver make note of the damage on the bill of lading; or refuse to accept the delivery and notify us immediately. If you have to keep the merchandise, keep it (unused) in the original shipping packaging....DO NOT DESTROY the original shipping packaging. We will promptly notify the carrier and ship replacement materials to you when we file your claim with them.




Customer Guarantee


We at Ponds, Plants and More want you to be happy with your order.

If your purchase is unsatisfactory, simply return it - unused and unopened, and in the original box and/or shipping container, within 15 days of the shipment date for a refund or a substitution. DO NOT OPEN THE BOX! Yes...you CANNOT use it or try it out and then decide you want to return it. We're not a "Megastore"....once an item is returned to us used or opened, we cannot resell it.


Books are non-returnable.

Special-Order items are non-returnable.


Plants are the exception. Plants are guaranteed live upon arrival, only.

We do our best to provide you with high-quality plants. All of our plants will be shipped to you in good, healthy, growable condition and true to name. However, the plants must be cared for properly, upon arrival. We cannot be held responsible if your postal carrier or your UPS driver places your plants in the heat or direct sun upon delivery. (Our boxes are well marked to identify that the contents inside are perishable and are to be protected from heat.) We always email our customers with the estimated date given to us (by the shipper) and we always track our packages to make sure they arrive when they're supposed to. It is, therefore, up to you to to make arrangements to have someone available to accept delivery and care for the plants when they do arrive.

Return Policy


ALL RETURNS MUST BE PRE-AUTHORIZED by calling us before returning the item for refund or replacement (it must be unopened and unused - Please read our Customer Guarantee for specific information) within 15 days of the shipment date.

You will receive a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA).

SHIPPING CHARGES are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Books are non-returnable.

Special-Order items are non-returnable.

ANY RETURN mailed back to us without an RMA number, will be refused and returned back to the customer, or will be charged a 25% restocking fee.

Plants are guaranteed live upon arrival, only. We ship healthy, living plants, but they must be cared for properly upon arrival.

We are not liable for damage to plants caused by shipper's neglect, improper care upon arrival, freezing (or frost-bitten) or damage caused from excessive heat.

YOU MUST NOTIFY US within 24 hours of delivery date of any questionable plants. Once we are notified that there may be a problem, we will work with you to resolve it.

All returns must be accompanied by a copy of your invoice or packing slip. Please indicate the reason for the return. Please include all parts that came with your return. You may want to insure your return, as we cannot/will not be held responsible for lost or misdirected returns. If you paid for your order by credit card, a credit will be issued and will appear on your billing statement - less the shipping and handling charges. If you paid by check or money order, a refund will be mailed to you - less the shipping and handling charges.

THERE WILL BE a 25% RE-STOCKING FEE on all returned, non-defective merchandise. You may choose to substitute an item for the one that you are returning, therefore, the re-stocking fee would be waived.

Payment Options


We gladly accept personal checks, money-orders, VISA / MasterCard, Discover and American Express, or your bank's debit/credit card. Please make sure to fill out all forms with your exact "credit card" billing information. Sorry, we cannot accept C.O.D. orders. For online orders, payments are limited to Visa / MasterCard, Discover and American Express, only.

Please note: If you pay by personal check, your order will not ship until the check clears our bank. There is a $25.00 fee on all returned checks (insufficient funds). If paying by check or money order, be sure to include the corect shipping and handling charges, and extra freight charges (where applicable) for large truck-shipment orders (ex. pond liners over 500 sq/ft). Any overpayment will be refunded or retained as online-store credit that will be deducted from your next order....whichever you request!
